A light shines in the darkness

What is it?

An evening invitation to step inside and pray.

Nightfever is a night of invitation for those passing by to come inside, light a candle and encounter the beauty of Jesus Christ in His Church.

It starts with Jesus

Nightfever always begins with the celebration of Mass at 18:00. This is because Jesus in the Eucharist is at the centre of Nightfever and, after Mass, He is placed on the altar for Adoration.

The invitation

Shortly after Mass, teams of volunteers go out onto the streets of Soho to invite passersby into the church. This invitation is simple: to light a candle inside the church.

Entering the presence

For those who accept the invitation, this may be the first time that they have set foot in a church in a long time and so it is important that they are guided and welcomed. Once inside, they are free to light a candle, to write down a prayer, to speak to a priest, and to stay for as long as they would like.
