What is it?

Big questions, honest answers, room to wonder.

Faith Exploration is a relaxed introduction to the Christian faith, and a first step for anyone thinking about becoming Catholic. We meet in small, informal groups to talk through the big questions of life and faith. Nothing is assumed and no question is off limits. Come with your curiosity, your doubts, and whatever has got you wondering.

Who it is for

Faith Exploration is for you if you are drawn to the Catholic faith and wondering about being baptised, or if you were already baptised, perhaps as a child or in another Christian tradition, and would like to complete your initiation by receiving First Holy Communion and Confirmation. If you are already a practising Catholic who has received Baptism, Communion and Confirmation, this particular course is not aimed at you, though you are always welcome at our other events.

When we meet

We meet every Monday evening, 7:00pm to 8:30pm. The course began on 22 June, but you are very welcome to join at any point. Each evening builds on the last, so it is worth coming to as many as you can. If you join partway through, we will have a chat and help you pick up the thread. The next session is Monday 13 July, and the course runs until Monday 24 August.

What comes next

Faith Exploration is just the beginning. For anyone who feels ready, a further stage of preparation begins in September, leading, for those who wish it, to being received into the Church and receiving the sacraments at Easter 2027.
