What is Eucharistic Adoration?

Eucharistic Adoration is simply about spending time in the presence of Jesus. We believe that the Eucharist, the communion bread and wine, through the power of the Holy Mass, becomes Jesus Christ, truly present in His Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity. In the form of the Eucharist, we can pray before Jesus, truly present before us.

Eucharistic Adoration is how we grow in love by being in the presence of God, who is love. Through this, we receive God’s grace and healing and can speak to Him in the quiet of our hearts. It is by this that we are renewed and strengthened for our Christian journey. It is a time of silence, waiting, and emptying ourselves in freedom so He may free and fill us.

When can I go to Adoration at St Patrick’s?

The doors of Saint Patrick’s are open to all, normally from 7am to 7pm every day. It is the House of God where people come to pray, rest, and listen to God in their hearts.

St Patrick’s is in the process of establishing Perpetual Adoration, that is to say, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament exposed on the altar twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. This is still a work in progress. However, times for adoring the Lord can be found below.

Adoration is available at other times, including overnight adoration. To find out more, or if you are able to regularly commit one hour per week to Adoration, get in touch here.
