To arrange an appointment to speak with the parish priest about receiving any of the Sacraments please contact Fr Alexander via email: fralexander@stpatricksoho.org or via the parish office: 020 7437 2010.
Baptism
Baptisms take place by appointment on a day which is convenient. Generally only one child is baptised at each celebration.
Baptisms are booked by making an appointment to speak with the Parish Priest. Parents make a commitment to bring their children up as Catholics and need to be attending Mass before any date can be set.
Although there is no charge for baptism it is customary to make a donation to the Church.
Please note: If you are not a member of St Patrick’s parish (parish is commonly defined as the place where you live or where you go to Mass on Sunday) you will need to approach your parish priest and ask him for permission to have your child baptized in another parish from your own.
First Holy Communion
Children begin preparation for these Sacraments when they are seven. Lessons take place at the parish. They take place weekly and start in the autumn. Please contact the Parish Office for more information on 020 7437 2010.
Confirmation
Preparation for Confirmation can begin once someone has entered the second year of secondary school (year 8). The time of Confirmation varies according to the availability of a bishop.
Adults wishing to be received into the Church
The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) is for adults who are wishing to be received into the Church through baptism or confirmation, and for those who wish to find out more about it.
If you are interested or require more information, please contact the parish for more information.
Marriage
We require a minimum of six months' notice for any wedding whether taking place here or elsewhere. Couples have to attend a marriage preparation course.
Please note: If your parish is not St Patrick’s (your parish is normally understood as the geographical parish in which you live. It can however mean the parish that you go to Mass in on a regular basis, if that should be different) but you would like to get married here, the normal practice is to approach your parish priest and to ask him to prepare you for marriage and to ask his permission for you to marry outside your parish.
Sacrament for the Sick
We arrange for parishioners who cannot attend Holy Mass to receive the Sacraments of Confession and Holy Communion at home, if they so wish. Please contact us to make the necessary arrangements. When appropriate the Sacrament of the Sick can also be administered.
The local hospitals have their own Catholic chaplains to look after the spiritual needs of patients. Catholics should always ensure that their religious details are recorded and that the Roman Catholic chaplain is informed of their presence.
Funerals
Please contact Fr. Alexander on 020 7437 2010 or email fralexander@stpatricksoho.org.

Request a copy of a Sacramental Record
From time to time many people find it necessary to request a copy of a certificate of baptism, or a record of their confirmation or marriage in church. Most commonly, this will be in connection with a marriage, or a school application.
In order to comply with the requirements of the Data Protection Act, all such requests need to e made in writing and certificate can only be issued to those named on the record – for instance the person who was baptized, or, in the case of someone under the age of 16 their parent or guardian.
Because requests need to be signed, and we need to retain a written record of all requests for access to our sacramental registers, we are unable to accept requests by phone or email. However, you may download a copy of the request form below and post it to the address provided. In case of query please email: info@stpatricksoho.org or ring 020 7437 2010.
